Cinema shaped by a global perspective.
ABOUT
Storytelling has always been how I've made sense of the world.
Growing up across Sierra Leone, Guinea, The Gambia, Ghana, the United Kingdom, and Eritrea gave me a perspective shaped by different cultures, traditions, and ways of seeing life. Those experiences continue to influence every project I take on.
Along the way, I created the Stage 13/Warner Bros. short-form comedy series The Incredible Life of Darrell, serving as writer, director, executive producer, and lead actor. My directing work has screened at the Los Angeles Film Festival, NBCUniversal Short Film Festival, American Black Film Festival, BronzeLens Film Festival, and others.
As an actor, I’ve guest-starred on TV shows including DOC, 9-1-1, and Hawaii Five-0, and starred in the short film Emergency, which won the Grand Jury Prize at SXSW and received a Special Jury Award at the Sundance Film Festival, cited for its social poignancy, strength in writing and directing, and a standout lead performance.
Whether behind the camera or in front of it, I’m interested in stories that explore the complexity, and richness of the human experience.
